The game was "born" in a cold autumn-day 1992 by Tor Gjerde and me when we were listening to the superb music of Samain (really creative music ;-). Suddenly in this creative moment one of us said : "Let's make a game"
(I don't remember which one of us who said it, but I think it's me, but Tor probably doesn't agree with me on that :-)
Then the other said : "ok, what about hexagonal pieces ?"
And then we created the gamerules stealing rules from chess and merging them with our own rule-ideas ..
