De har selvfølgelig vanlige bensinstasjoner også i Vietnam, men sånne mindre varianter som den her er i klart flertall. Eieren av "bensinstasjonen" drar til en ordentlig bensinstasjon og kjøper bensin, blander den ut med parafin i akkurat så stor grad at den fremdeles kan brukes som mopedbensin, og selger den så videre. Siden parafin er billigere enn bensin kan han dermed selge drivstoffet sitt bittelitt billigere enn bensinstasjonen kan. Og så blir alle fornøyde, kanskje utenom mopedmotoren.

  They do of course have the international version of gas stations in Vietnam as well, but this smaller kind outnumbers them by far. The owner of this mini-outlet for petrol will go to a large gas station and buy some petrol. Then he will dilute the petrol with kerosene (which is cheaper) exactly so much that it can still be used as motorbike fuel. And then he sells it for less than the proper gas stations do, which means he draws a healthy crowd of poor customers, while still making a small profit. This is a win-win-win situation, except for the motorbike engine which may turn sour in the end.
