Mens store dyr for det meste ble drept og spist i relativt nylige tider med krig og nød i Mosambik, har fuglebestandene i landet stort sett klart seg greit.

Disse tre brunvingesvarthodefinkene, eller hva de heter, stoppet i nesten et helt sekund på en gren rett over hodet mitt.

 

Most large animals in Mozambique were hunted and eaten during periods of war and crisis, so you don't see them much these days. Birds, however, are plentiful.

These rufous-backed mannikins (Lonchura bicolor nigriceps) stopped for a second on a branch just above me.
