Data mining systems face a lot of problems and pitfalls. A system
which is quick and correct on some small training sets,
could behave completely different when applied to a larger database.
A data mining system may
work perfect for consistent data and perform significant worse when a
little noise is added to the training set. In this section we take a
look at what we mean are the most prominent problems and challenges of
data mining systems today.
