Weight of Evidence Measure

Chan and Wong[CW91] has proposed a method which is suitable for our needs. Their way of acquiring classificatory knowledge consists of three phases: 1) Detection of underlying patterns in the database 2) construction of rules based on these patterns and 3) use of these rules to predict class membership (value of decision attribute) for new objects. We are mainly interested in the third phase, but will mention principles from the other two to give the complete picture.
