Subject: Engineers of Order (specialty priests)
Time for a specialty priest! (Deep in my heart I know Lazzeris will send this to me.. he's such a swell guy, and aware of the fact that I always forget to CC stuff my own way...)

At any rate... on with the show....

The Engineers of Order (henceforth called E. of O.) were established in Midlan just after the 'apparent' collapse of the Farlands. With the substantial amount of mystic beings and general chaos running about a group decided to take matters into their own hands. The E. of O. discovered a potent artifact, now rumored to be quite well hidden by them, called the 'Great Lens.'

The Lens itself shows rudimentary intelligence, but primarily allows the highest eschelon of the E. of O. to observe all places... though its power is somewhat limited in that it targets only persons and places known to the user... however, after scrying some person for a week or too the list of areas you become familiar with can grow quite large... but I digress.

The E. of O. was established to keep a lock on chaotic activity. Namely, incursions into Midlan by Farland creatures... in recent years however the Order has taken to policing the varied Midlan races as well. As time passed they became something kin to what you and I might call 'Big Brother.' As is always the story, however, the individual Engineer of Order makes of himself what he (and Ilbrae) will have himself be.

Deity: Ilbrae, God of the Gates and Travel. With special attention focused on the Great Lens as a gift to their sect from said deity.

Symbol: A black circle on a white background, the circle is sometimes colored sky blue on its interior to represent the Great Lens... (so as to avoid being confused with other priests.)

Duties of the priesthood: To date no Engineer has ever recieved direct communication from Ilbrae, so they assume that their policing activities, and generally meddlesome 'goings on' are exactly what they were meant to do.

Sample character backgrounds:
1. Cop: You're a low level Engineer of Order, your superiors request that
you keep an 'eye' on a seedy section of town... but stay out of sight.
2. Rent-a-cop: You answer directly to your superiors, but serve the local
authority in some justice dealing aspect, judge, spy, etc.
3. Free-lance: any level... your superiors sent you out into the world to
see what the city bound EOs are missing.. secretly they have little
faith in your abilities.. prove them wrong!
4. Tool: Mid to high level.. your superiors use you like a tool to accomplish
objectives of the organization, you know it.. and might accept it too..
after all, it's what you're all about.
5. Upper Eschelon: High Level... you're a 'big cheese'.... or you think you
are.. at this point in time you can pursue your own ends... but don't be
suprised if you're the first guy to learn about the next Farland
   invasion.
Alignment Requirements: LN only.

Note: while an EO might never be the 'muscle' of the priestly section of the party, they can easily be the most resourceful... with the ability to garner information, heal wounds, and make friends... (or at least a few charmed 'arrowstoppers.'
