History:
Sam Durbin, Sr., was a member of an alien species that was on the verge
of dying out because of infertility. They had known about and studied
humans for several years before Sam was sent to Earth. His mission was to
mate with a human female and see if it would be possible to save his race
by breeding a new species. Because of his rather unusual appearance and
high strength and speed, Sam Sr. became a superhero in order to attract
attention and, hopefully, a mate. After watching cartoons and reading
comic books, he took the name Yellow Ostrich (ostriches are very similar
to a species of tame birds on his homeworld). He became well known for
his strength (100) and speed (50" running), and for running into things
at very high speeds. Over the years, he met and married Lisa Porter, and
they had a child, Sam Jr. In 1987, Sam Sr. was on a mission with his
hero group chasing several battlearmored Pure Earth Society agents, when
the group was ambushed by over a dozen PES robots. Sam used his speed
and strength to hold off the robots while the other heroes escaped. Sam
was killed by the robots and displayed on television as a hostile alien
bent on taking over the Earth. Sam Jr, just starting high school when
his father was killed, swore revenge. After graduation, he donned a
costume similar to his father's and has embarked on a career as a superhero.
Description:
Sam is 20 years old, is 6'1" tall and weighs 245 pounds (very dense, not
fat). He has bright blue skin and green eyes. Each hand has 3 fingers
instead of the human 4. He has no outer ears, just slits. His incisors
are fangs instead of the more canine human teeth. He is surrounded by
a pale blue glow at all times (he isn't sure where this came from; his
father didn't glow).
Other Stuff:
The Pure Earth Society is a large group of people who are dedicated to
the eradication of all intelligent life that is not "pure, normal human".
This extends to mutants, chemically altered people, aliens, etc. They
have a great deal of political influence in several countries and have
access to advanced weaponry, including battlearmor and small robots.
