The d6 System

This page last modified by Jens-Arthur Leirbakk

It went belly up together with WEG. But, in its heyday, it - like the later d20 system - was an attempt to use an all-encompassing game mechanic, and then develop settings (modifications of the standard rules) that used the same core mechanic.

The d6 system is actually quite charming. Rolling loads of dice and then adding them together to see if you beat the difficulty is an easy way of getting lots and lots of practice at basic algebra. You won't believe how fast we eventually added the dice back when Star Wars was the game of choice.

I like the d6 way of doing things. But that's just because I like to roll a lot of dice, and then add them together. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside .
