The project on Advertising Photography (end of term 2) was a group project. In my group was Emilia Gomez-Lopez, Sabine Fudala and Elina Jokipii. We had to choose one of the personal projects from the previous project (Documentary Photography) and use some of the images. We could take new photographs and mount it together with the photographs from the previous project. We chose to use Emilia's pictures from Heathrow Airport as a backdrop for the advertisement. A lot of the work consisted in using a computer to create the ad, not so much time were spent in the studio taking photographs.
We started out with an idea about making an ad for a soft drink called Indigo. I am not completely satisfied with the ideas we based our ad on, and I think we would have ended up with a much better result if we had used more time sorting the ideas out before starting to work.
The first two ads works for huge billboard posters.
The last three visuals are parts of one ad, suitable for printing on three
successive spreads in a magazine.
