FEELS LIKE HOME

Since I've never done it before I thought I'd do an imaginary fashion shoot for our last 2nd Year project. The theme for this term was Photography as Commodity. The location I chose was Home [bar/lounge] in Shoreditch, London.

I set everything up for a shoot, but things didn't go as planned. The sockets for the softboxes I rented, didn't fit my flashheads, and after mounting the softboxes (with tape!) on some speaker-stands I found on location, I managed to position them in conjunction with the flashheads. But, it was a lot of hassle every time I wanted to move the flashes around, and that resulted in less time for the actual shooting. In all this chaos I "forgot" to change the models' outfit often enough, so you'll see some of them repeated in more than one photograph.

After printing a selection of the photographs I decided to try different methods of selective colouring in Photoshop, and I ended up using the images you can see below. The reason why I did this is mainly because the colorscheme was too messy, to much to draw attention away from the clothes.

The layout of the small images below is more or less the layout of a fashion story in a magazine; starting with one right page, moving on to two doublepage spreads in the middle and finishing off with one left page.
