Logfile from Brass&Steel. Hachilah says, "So... we'll say it's been a bit after we returned to your pad?" Hachilah says, "Or, right away?" Zach says, "Si, signorina. A couple of hours later." Hachilah nods! :) Zach putters about and starts rummaging in his fridge and cupboards to make some lemonade and salady goodness for them. "You ok, sis?" Hachilah is singing quietly to herself, toiling away with a pencil and a scrap of paper at Zach's table. She seems happy enough. She glances up at Zach, grinning. "I'm feeling quite wonderfully, actually." She grins wider. Hachilah does an Artistry roll AutoJudge: Hachilah rolls: 2 + 4 = 6 . Check die: 5 Zach smiles lovingly to her. "That's good." Zach says, "Sweet!" Hachilah says, "Technically, that's a CD 9... but since we cap it off... :)" Zach glances at her toilings. "What is it you're drawing?" If one were to glance at the scrap, one might be struck, perhaps at first by its sheer awe-inspiring beauty... and then by the unmistakeable resemblance to the lovely contenance of one Traci Lovejoy... Hachilah seems to have captured her perfectly... in fact, giving her a kind of lost and winsome expresion... oh well, perhaps it's artistic lisence. Hachilah says, "Wow, spelling issues :)" Hachilah looks down. "This? Oh." She grins, looking fondly at the picture. "I'm drawing a portrait of Traci." Zach carries the lemonade and the nibbles over to the table, and puts them down crear away from the scrap. "Wow... You are really, really good." He smiles. "That is an awesome picture." Hachilah beams. "Yes, I am rather pleased with it." Zach takes a drink for his lemonade and strokes Hachilah's hair. "We did good work today, little sister seraph.." Hachilah looks back at Zach. "We did?" Zach nods. "Yes we did. We made a stand against the balseraph an we also looked after that innocent girl, Adonia." Hachilah grins. "Yes. I suppose that we did." She seems surprised, actually, perhaps she's not accustomed to praise in the workplace, as it were. Zach beams back at her and nods. "There was some disturbance as we entered the sweetshop. Was it you or Traci?" Hachilah raises both eyebrows slightly, perhaps a reaction to the abrupt change in conversation. "It was Traci." She states it simply with a plaintive expression. Zach curls up on the couch and nurses his lemonade. He looks curious "Do you know what went off?" I just heard the noise... Hachilah continues to sit at the table. She pauses briefly. "Yep. It was... an attunement of sorts, I believe." She smiles. Zach scratches his head a bit. "But.... That's not nice..?" Hachilah's smile fades only slightly. Her eyebrows go up slightly, giving her an expression of mildly puzzled happiness. She shrugs it off, pleasantly. "I haven't discovered a negative side-effect as of yet." In fact, she's been positively chipper since getting home, though perhaps a _bit_ lost in her own little world. Zach nods absently and takes a sip of lemonade. "That's a relief." His eyes flicker for a moment, although he tries to hide it. Hachilah elevates one eyebrow above the other. Hachilah says, "Detect lies :)" AutoJudge: Hachilah rolls: 3 + 3 = 6 . Check die: 2 Zach is definitely trying to evade and... He is /not/ relieved. Hachilah's eyes narrow gently for a moment, but they quickly relax into a kind of concerned expression. "I really don't think there's any need to worry, Arethas." Hachilah adds, with a tiny smile, "I feel really _good_." Her voice is girlish and low, innocent and quietly gleeful. Zach tilts his head slightly. "She's a demon, Hach. That's /always/ reason for worry. But I'm glad you feel ok." Zach says, "True. True." Hachilah's eyebrows dip. Darn it, don't make her think, she's _happy_ here. She sits back, dismayed. "She is rather likeable for a demon." She looks a bit confused. Zach smiles a consilatory smile and strokes her cheek. "She's an impudite. They /are/ likeable and charming for the most part. But they are still ruined mercurians." Hachilah's eyebrows dip further, then do a 180, illustrating her mental swing from quiet contemplation to earnest persuasion. "Don't worry Zach. I really do feel wonderful." She nods reassuringly, and pats his cheek gently. Zach smiles softly to her and strokes her arm. His eyes are soft, but slightly melancholic. "Yes you obviously do, sweetie. Is there anything you want? Soda? Coffee?" Hachilah grins and shakes her head. "No, thank-you. It's kind of you to offer, but I find myself to be rather satisfied for the moment." In fact, she seems to be full to brimming with joy and energy. She leans up, and kisses Zach softly under the chin, with a grin. Hachilah says, "If you like, we can start winding down..." Hachilah doesn't want to monopolize the Man in Demand ;) Zach laughs. We can fast forward to the here and now and go outside:) Be social:) Hachilah says, "Sure :)" Hachilah says, "Actually, I'm going to disappear for a bit..." Zach kisses her forhead lovingly and sighs ever so softly. "I love you, little sister. I am glad you are happy." Even if it is for all the wrong reasons, he thinks quietly to himself. Hachilah beams. She snuggles happily. Clearly, her powers of perception do not extend into the realm of telepathy. It's another day in KC, our angelic heroes are ready for new adventures. Zach candidly scruitinizes Hachilah for signs of continued unnaturalness. Hachilah is still rabidly joyful, and rather obsessed with that portrait she drew... You say, "I'm gonna go out for a while, Hachi. Wanna come or are you still drawing?" Hachilah glances up, distracted. "Hrm? Oh." She looks to the side, bouncing her head thoughtfully. "I think perhaps... that I'll stay here for a little while...", she gazes at the picture, and tweaks it slightly, "...longer..." Zach nods. "Ok. Enjoy yourself then, kiddo." Hachilah grins and nods. "You too!" You walk outside to the landing. [...and drives on to Crown Center.] Downtown -- Crown Center A huge and modernized commercial shopping and entertainment district, anchored by the Hallmark company headquarters and generated originally through that company's largesse. Surrounding the greeting card giant's HQ are two five-star hotels, dozens of restaurants and upscale boutiques, multiple live theaters and movie houses, and an outdoor ice skating rink. Between midnight movies, late-night dinners and drinks, and the general ambience, this place usually teems with people until late at night and trickles with the occasional flurry of activity until well into the wee hours of the morning. There is still that lull, however, between 2am and dawn, however, where all is still, as the darkness settles over this temple to modern civilization. Sarah is sitting on a bench outside her store, enjoying the day. Zach comes walking along the pavements and past a fountain. He looks a bit distracted, but otherwise calm. His stride is sure and swift. Sarah raises her eyes to scan the crowd and spots Zach easily enough and waves at him, a smile crossing her face." Zach notices the wave in the corner of his eye, and turns his head. Spotting the source of said wave, he smiles and changes his course. "G'afternoon Sarah. How are you today?" Sarah grins "I'm good, just working on my tan." She peers at him, "How about you? You seem sort of...distracted." "Yeah, well.. You know...daydreaming again." A small, wan smile flashes over Zach's face. His eyes show their habitual little sparkle. Sarah pats the bench next to her "Come join me." She slides over to make room "What were you daydreaming about?" Her eyes twinkle as she looks at him Zach flashes a smile. "All I can think of is love, and Saturday, and how the golden road can seize to glare.." Sarah raises an eyebriw and chuckles "I'm afraid I'm not familar with the quote. Zach hehs and sits down on the bench, draping one arm over the back and crossing one leg over the other. He sits half-turned toward Sara. "It's pretty obscure, it's from a song called Joy Surrender. Swedish band I think." Sarah nods "Well no wonder I haven't heard of them." She slides a little closer to him and smiles "What have you been up too? The current time in Kansas City is 4:26 PM, Tue Sep 10, 2002. Zach relaxes and casts a glance around the centre, betore turning his attention back on Sarah. "Working. I got off early today, but I'll be on call all night with the tow truck." He sighs. "No rest for the wicked, eh?" Sarah nods thoughtfuly "So, in the meantime while you're free, want to go have some fun or something? Zach mulls this over. "Hmmm... I'm kinda ready for some dinner. How bout you? Should we perhaps get ourselves over to BJ's?" Sarah nods and stands "Works for me." She smiles down at him "Unless you want to go try that wok thing you had planed at my place." Zach rises and grabs his bag. "Nah, then we have to do a lotta shopping. And I'm hungry /now/." He grins and grabs his bag. "Your car or mine?" Sarah nods "Yours will do fine." She slips her arm through Zach's. Zach leads her to the parking lot and the big, yellow tow truck. Wrooom! B.J.'s Lawnside B-B-Q -- Dining Room and Stage Sarah walks in, already sniffing the air "Mmmm, I love the smells here." Zach nods happily and scans the room for a table. Zach manages to get notices by a waitress and swiftly the menues arrive at their table. Sarah beams at Zach and flips open the menu. As she scans it she asks "So did Hachilah get home alright last night?" Zach smiles. "Yeah, yeah. She did. Did you get Traci home?" Sarah nods "Yep, dropped her off not long after you left." Zach scans his menu. "Hmmm..... I think I feel like barbecued lamb today. How 'bout you?" Sarah shakes her head "I'll take the chicken I think." She grins "I do enjoy the sauce. It's so messy." Zach smiles and folds his menu. "Not to mention tasty!" He waves to a waitress who comes and takes their orders. Sarah grins and leans back in her chair with a contented sound "So, what did you think of Harriet?" Zach relaxes back on his chair and thinks for a second. "She seemed really interesting. I'd love to see her work sometime." Sarah nods "Me too." She grins "Hopefuly I'll get to soon. She's going to do a statue of me." Zach smiles widely. "A statue no less! Wow! You must have made quite an impression!" Sarah thinks for a moment "Or maybe it's a painting, I'm not sure. You say, "Didn't she mention a mural?" Sarah nods "Yeah, of Kansas City." Zach looks fascinated. "Oh that one I would really love to see." Sarah nods "Oh yeah, I wonder where's she going to paint it. It would be kinda big for a studio I would think." Zach nods. "Yeah, unless it's a miniature mural." He laughs. "I am joking of course." Ada enters from the lot. Ada meanders in. She's wearing a grey T-shirt tucked into black jeans, along with black sneakers and a silver wristwatch. The image on the T-shirt is that of a typical yellow smiley-face with Xes for eyes and a dot in the center of the forehead; the slogan over the image reads "ov3rclocked". (Dig it: http://images.cafepress.com/zoom/555100_zoom.jpg) Sarah grins and swats him "What was up with Traci and Hachilah last night? Hachi seemed to be getting very...fond of Traci Sarah and Zach are sitting at a table talking and waiting for their food to arrive." At your table, Zach wrinkles his nose. "Yeah. That was kinda weird." At your table, Sarah shrugs "I always thought that Traci and Hachilah didn't get along that well. Ada sits at a table in a corner. She seems to have chosen the one table without a waiter. At your table, Zach says "They don't. That's whats so unsettling about the whole thing. Hey - there's Ada!" Sarah looks over as Zach notices Ada and smiles slightly. She waves in the woman's direction Zach spots Ada and waves smilingly to her, gesturing for her to join them. Ada puts her feet up and closes her eyes. Zach takes a note of this. "Seems like she's in Zen mode. Oh well.." Sarah nods Zach looks around to see if there will be food soon. "If they don't hurry up this is gonna get embarrasing. There are rumblings about to happen..." He glances down on his stomach. Sarah grins "Hey, I did offer to have you come over to my place, we could have whiped something up there." Zach chuckles. "Yeah, that you did. Oh look!" He points toward the approaching foodbringer. "Rescue is coming." Sarah grins and bounces up and down in her seat "Yey, food at last." Grilled Chicken and lamb is served along with beverages. The waitress bustles off again to attend to more hungry customers. Sarah happily takes a bite out of a leg of chicken, whiping her mouth and then holding her fingers up to Zach to see if he will lick them Zach starts happily tucking in his food while studying Sarah a bit. When she holds out her finger he smiles and meet her eyes, saying something softly. At your table, Zach says "I'm wondering...who you are..?" At your table, Sarah raises an eyebrow as she lowers her hand "I beg your pardon?" At your table, Zach takes a swollow of his beer and spears half a cherry tomato with his fork. His eyes linger on her and move from feature to feature. "You have my pardon. But I'm curious as to who you are nonetheless. Mysterious beauty living in a secret appartement in a condemnated house, while running a successful store in Crown Centre." At your table, Sarah takes another bite of her chickien and chews thoughtfuly "So, what exactly do you want to know?" At your table, Zach smiles lopsidedly. "Eh... Everything." At your table, Sarah nods and whipes her fingers on the napkin "Well I came here from New York to stay with a friend who has since moved on." You paged Sarah with 'Trying to resonate.:)'. AutoJudge: Zach rolls: 3 + 6 = 9 . Check die: 2 From afar, Sarah nods You paged Sarah with 'Nope:)'. At your table, Zach says "So what were you doing in New York?" At your table, Sarah shrugs "Hanging out, making a living, having fun, that sort of thing." Sarah pages: so, can I resonate your emtions? At your table, Zach nods. "Is that where ou're from?" You paged Sarah with 'Sure!'. Sarah pages: ok, cd 3 AutoJudge: Sarah rolls: 4 + 2 = 6 . Check die: 4 Sarah pages: made it :) Can I have your general emotional state, single strongest emotion and reason for that emotion You paged Sarah with 'General emotional state: Worried and curious, with an undertow of frustration. My single strongest emotion is one of urgent curiosity because you showed your celestial nature to me. :)'. From afar, Sarah nods :) You paged Sarah with 'I'm gonna make an Int roll to see if Zach gets the thing about seeing his emotions in Sarah's eyes:)'. AutoJudge: Zach rolls: 1 + 5 = 6 . Check die: 5 You paged Sarah with 'Nope:)'. Sarah shrugs "I've done some wandering but yeah, I've spent a lot time in New York, there and New Orleans." At your table, Zach nods. "Yeah, you mentioned New Orleans. Ever been to Europe?" Sarah shakes her head "Nope, never. It's too bad, I would like vist there." Zach smiles. "Yeah you should. It's a very interesting part of the world. You ever been outside North America at all?" He grins. "Trekking in the Himalayas?" Sarah shrugs "I've been to Canada and Mexico but that'd about it. Zach smiles. "I guess that's a no. Do you have like a favourite place you'd like to go to?" Sarah grins "Paris! I'd love to go to Paris one day. Zach nods. "Paris is great. It's got soul." Sarah chuckles "I'll take your word for it. I'd also like to go to Amsterdam someday>' Zach grins and munches the last of his lamb. "Amsterdam, eh? How come?" Sarah shrugs "It just seems so fun, lot of people running around having the time of their life. Zach considers this. "Well the tourists certainly do, but the people who actually live there are just like people everywhere else." He pauses and thinks. "Well, part from being Dutch.." Sarah chuckles "Hey they could be Belgin I suppose" Zach snorts. "There's quite a lot of difference. The Blegians are a nice and generally friendly lot, but the Dutch are by far the more open minded. And very pragmatic." Sarah looks interested "Well I'm sure I'd have a good time there, especialy with the more open minded of the lot." Zach will be heading for bed soon. Sarah nods Zach grins. "I'm sure you would, princess. Amsterdam has a couple of very interestin museums. Well.. One of them is really fit to give you serious nightmares, but.." Ada takes a deep breath, bunches her muscles, and kicks off her chair, landing on her feet and starting toward the door. She stiffens for a split second on the way, but smoothly continues in her progress. Sarah glances over at Ada and nods politely at her Zach tries to get eyecontact with Ada and waves. Ada nods politely back to Sarah... and to Zach, after a moment. Her eyes don't light up like they usually do, though. Ada pauses at the door to chat with someone she knows who's just coming in. Sarah glances curiously over at Zach and then back at Ada. Zach sighs and shrugs. She probably didn't notice him through the crown of people in the place. Sarah says, "Want to see if she would like to join us?" Ada finishes her conversation, glances back at Zach and Sarah, and leaves You say, "Nah, 's ok. She's doing her mediation thing. Just taking time off, y'know." Sarah nods "So, where have you been? Zach smiles and wawes to Ada as she notices them and then watches her leave. You say, "Eh?" Sarah says, "In your travels, you said that you travled alog" Zach nods. "Yeah, I've been around. Travelled quite a lot in Europe. I've been to South America and Asia too. And one short trip to West Africa. I'd like to go back there some time. I think Africa is a part of the world that just gets under your skin and make you want to come back again and again..." Sarah looks impressed "Wow, that's a lot of traveling. Where do you call home? Zach leans back and muses... "No particular place in this world. I guess it's all 'home'.." Zach looks at his watch and straightens up with a sigh. He digs out his wallet and lays some money on the table to pay for his food. "Look I gotta go get ready for my on call shift. It's been great having dinner with you, princess. I'll see you around again soon, eh?" Sarah nods and smiles "Maybe we can have dinner at my place next time." Zach rises smilingly. "Maybe we could to that, yeah." His green eyes glow with warmth. You stand and leave Table 3. You say, "See you later, princess." You step outside.
